About the Process:

High in the hills of Chiapas, Mexico, embroidery is an art form that dates back hundreds of years. Using vibrantly-dyed thread, female artisans create intricate narratives inspired by the local landscape and the flowers, plants, and animals that thrive there. Passed down through generations, embroidery continues to serve as tangible language that has helped preserve the stories and legacies of indigenous families in modern times.

Each of our embroidered tassels was handmade with love and care by Claudia, an indigenous Maya-Totsil woman from the state of Chiapas in Mexico. Enjoy your one-of-a-kind treasure!
