About the Process:
Textile weaving and embroidery is an important part of Hmong culture and has served as a way of preserving their language, folklore, and traditions. This colorful, delicate, and intricate fabric is used to decorate clothing worn during celebrations and festivals. During the political unrest of the 1960s-1970s many Hmong villagers were forced into refugee camps where they began selling their needlework for export where it grew in popularity. As a result, this beautiful tradition has been passed on through generations and continues to make its mark around the world. All of our Hmong textiles are ethically sourced and fair trade with respect to the people and cultures they represent.
